Why are Your Riser Handlebars Flared?

Our handlebars are designed to seek a balance between the traditional wide flat bars which offer stability and control over rough terrain and the comfort and speed of road bike drop bar position without sacrificing control. The Top Shelf Handlebars are flared in the drops to give the rider a stable and more controllable riding position that is essential for gravel biking terrain. This combination of comfort and control allows you to ride longer, further and faster and is especially well-suited to long distance multi-day, week or even months long bikepacking rides.

Cowchipper provides comfort, control, and efficiency for long days in the saddle, whether road touring, crushing mixed surfaces, or conquering the Great Divide. While the Cowchipper retains some resemblance of a traditional road bar, its radical 24 degree flare in the drops boosts leverage, stability, and comfort dramatically.

A super wide cousin of the Sparrow designed for offroad use. Inspired by the sweep angle of the Jeff Jones H-Bar. The Clarence makes it easy to throw the bike around in technical situations. Plus the grip position feels really natural. The 31.8mm version is slightly wider than the 25.4mm.

A roomy riser bar with about 25° of backsweep for a natural wrist position. Offers comfort without sacrificing hardly any control. Dream Cycle Vancouver helped us design this model. They wanted to replicate something close to bars found on MTB bikes of the early 80's. Recommended for bikepacking and touring.

Here is your alternative to "alternative drop bars". It's wide and takes MTB grips as well as bar tape. The grip area is long; long enough to run grip shifters (including Rohloff) and flat bar levers. But the Gator will also take aero levers just like the Junebug. Try it bikecamping, offroading, or touring.
