The SUPER LIGHT version shaves 125 grams out of the handle and are meant for working on well maintained bikes. The SL's are not suitable for use on bikes that have over torqued or seized lock rings. If you are working in a shop or just don't need to travel with your tools we strongly suggest that you go with our standard solid handle tools.

A socket style Crombie tool that is compatible with ratchets and torque wrenches.

The Socket Crombie has our signature finger spline at the top along with a 3/8" square drive for using your favorite ratchet or torque wrench. The tool is plenty deep to hide a quick release and still get full engagement on the lock ring(Campagnolo only).

Suspension application

The S Group Socket Crombie is ideal for some of the newer RockShox suspension forks that are using the S group lockring spline for suspension top caps.

Campagnolo version is compatible with all Campagnolo cassettes.

With thru axles becoming more and more common the original Crombie tool was due for a makeover. We took the piloting pin and plus sized it to work with the 12mm thru axle fitment that is actually standardized. We make this version as a dual sided tool with two S Group ends, one for thru axle wheels and the other for regular hubs. The regular side has a hole deep enough to hide a skewer nut, it's really the best of both worlds.

The STANDARD version comes with a solid handle while the SUPER LIGHT has a hollow handle to save weight for the traveling mechanic. SL handles are plenty durable for lockrings that are torqued close to the 40 NM spec. If you commonly come across over torque lockrings get the standard handle.

Note, this version of the Crombie tool is not compatible with any Campagnolo wheels.

We've decided to take an off-menu tool and offer it to the public, the Shop Crombie. Ideal for daily shop use, we've added 3" of extra length, an ESI silicone grip and a fully heat-treated tool to make working with modern bikes a little easier.

If stubborn spockets mean that the DJD driver cannot be adequately held then this Workshop tool may be required.

- Insert the tool securely into a bench vice.
- Remove the driver body from the hub assembly.
- Remove the 3 Pawls and spring.
- Insert the Pawl area of the driver body into the Bench tool.
- Use required chainwhip to remove the now securely held DJD driver body.
