  • Abbey Shimano Crank Pre Load Tool
    Stock Code:
    ABTLABTSHPLOAD

These gems are machined to precisely fit the preload adjuster cap on all modern 24mm spindle Shimano cranks. The finger spline offers good leverage to install, remove or adjust the preload cap. We also added a 6mm hex in the center should you need a little extra leverage that a hex key provides.

These are also compatible with our fit kits and with the addition of the 8mm or 10mm saddle height bullets for a more accurate measurement of saddle height.

*8mm and 10mm Saddle Height Bullets sold separately

  • Abbey Shimano STEPS BB socket
    Stock Code:
    ABTLABTBBSTEPS

Just when we thought we were done making bottom bracket sockets we get enough requests to add a fitment for Shimano STEPS drive units. This tool is used to remove the chainring spider from the drive unit. It's low profile clears chainring mount and it's relived internally to make room for the bottom bracket axle and the integrated washer that is found on some spindles. Other than that, it's a really nice 3/8" square drive socket just like the rest of our socket range.

  • Abbey Shop Pedal Wrench
    Stock Code:
    ABTLABTPEDALWS

With many pedal manufactures going away from 15mm wrench flats the traditional pedal wrench is becoming obsolete. To further complicate things some manufactures require both 6 and 8 mm keys within their product range. This means it's hard to know exactly what tool to grab for pedal removal or installation. Enter the Abbey Shop Pedal Wrench. With the once standard 15mm box end on one end and a custom 6 and 8 mm swivel bit on the opposite end it's the only pedal wrench you'll ever need. Perfect to keep at the fit station, on the sales floor, rental fleet counter and certainly at the tool bench.

The shop version of the tool gets an extra 2" (5 cm) of leverage over the team issue for an overall length of 14.5" Great for removing those suborn pedals. The tool receives a durable black Cerakote finish.

  • Abbey Shop Whip-It Chain Whip
    Stock Code:
    ABTLCFW-Shp-ShpChnWhp

What good is a Shop Crombie tool without the matching whip?

There's a little more that went into the Shop Duty Whip-It than the matching Crombie. We stuck with the proven construction of a machined tang welded into a handle. We did add some length to the handle, as much as we could while still fitting inside a 700c/29'er wheel and of course it got the matching grip. We also worked with KMC to get some more robust chain from their E bike chain. These chains have a 28% stronger pin design that helps them stay together when your wrist rolls under heavy torque. We also widened the tang everywhere the chain doesn't attached to add stiffness and give the chain more support. Then we heat treat everything to get the most out of the steel.

The other little tweak we did involves magnets. Now we don't pretend to understand how magnets work but they're kind of handy for keeping the chain wrapped around the cassette and keeping the chain stowed when not in use. We're also offering these as parts for the existing Whip-It.

  • Abbey Star Nut Setter
    Stock Code:
    ABTLABTSTARNUT

Sometimes simple tools are the best ones to make, they aren't complicated but small tweaks to the smallest of details can stack up to big improvements in function. The Star Nut Setter is one of those tools. A simple task to install the star nut into a metal fork steer tube so you can preload your threadless headset.

The outer guide slips over the steer tube and make sure that the driver stays straight while you hammer the nut into the steer. The driver has a hard stop to give you a perfect install depth as well. We took the extra clearance out of the two pieces of this tool to refine this design to something worthy of Abbey Green.

  • Abbey Stu Stick Rotor Truing Tool
    Stock Code:
    ABTLABTSTUSTK

At bike races I normally try to make the rounds, see what people are up to, show them new tools and get inspiration for new products. Stu Thorne (cyclocrossworld.com) put a common rotor truing tool in my hand and asked me to make it out of aluminum. Apparently traveling with the cyclocrossworld.com? team for a decade he'd learned to travel light.

A few samples later we've got a 44 gram rotor truing tool called the Stu Stick. So whether you want to slip it into your hydration pack for that enduro mountain bike ride or travel the world working with one of the staples of cross racing it's up to the task.

You can even use it to crack open a beer after you're done with the days fun.

  • Abbey Suspension Top Cap Socket 22mm
    Stock Code:
    ABTLABTSOCKET22

Suspension service is a specialty within bicycle repair and it takes specialized tools to perform this work. One of the things that any factory tech will tell you is nice to have are sockets specifically made or altered for the low profile hex on the top of each fork leg. The lead in or chamfer on a standard socket will greatly decrease the contact between tool and part and can easily scratch or deform those nuts. For years shops have been grinding down their sockets to remove the chamfer. Problem is you're still often left with a loose fitting socket that is still prone to chewing up those delicate parts. That's why we started from scratch.

We made our sockets from billet aluminum to exacting tolerances to keep these parts in good shape. fully CNC'd machined with zero lead in, they make the specialty that is suspension service a little bit easier. They feature a 3/8" square drive for use with your favorite torque wrench as well as finger splines to help run the top caps into the fork legs with those oil soaked hands. We also kept them short (1" or 25mm for all sizes) to reduce the chance of them caming off of the top cap under torque.

Offered in a 7 individual sizes and a 6 socket set for most modern suspension forks on the market.

  • Abbey T Way Base10 Piece
    Stock Code:
    ABTLABTTW10SET

The Abbey Bike Tools T way precision multi-tool is a great addition to the shop at home or work. This is built as a more robust multi use tool than our compact 4 way using the same durable stainless steel our Crombie heads use.

Everybody makes a multi-tool and there's a little bit of everything on the market, so what's different about ours? All of the little things that add up to one nice tool. A multi tool is only as good as it's tool engagement so that's where we started. If you're familiar with other Abbey tools you've no doubt noticed that they fit tighter than anything else out there and this one is no different. We use precision stainless steel bits from WERA that fit like a glove into the bolts on your modern bike. They won't strip out fasteners like the cheap offshore made tools that are so common in the bike world.

The next part of the multi-tool is the chassis, for this we used our favorite US drawn stainless steel alloy and built a frame to hold the bits. Offering good leverage for all of the small fasteners on your bike, be it the precision adjustment of limit screws or assembling your bike for a fly away trip.

  • Abbey Team Issue Modular Bearing Press
    Stock Code:
    ABTLABTPRESSNHV2

This press is the backbone of any modern shop. Bearing related work is becoming more and more common on modern bikes and no shop, professional or amature should pass over these tools. The Modular bearing press starts with the press head. Where most manufactures just have a glorified nut we went further by adding a massive thrust bearing. Not a wimpy little plastic washer either, an actual bearing with balls and races. What this means is that the pressing action is almost completely isolated from the torque, creating a super smooth pressing action that requires noticeably less effort. The Team Issue press ditches the handles in favor of our signature finger spline grip pattern. For those times when things are fitting a little too tight and you don't have the means to correct it, there is a 6mm hex in the top so you can use an allen key for a little extra leverage. We use a 1/2" acme thread for our press shaft, which means a more robust thread and less turning due to it's coarser thread. It also means we have a single diameter to work with and can size our drifts to this dimension, this means your bearings are more likely to go in straight. At the other end of the press is our new Quick Nut. This simple part allows you to slide the nut over the press shaft to the desired location and then click it into place and press away. No endless turning, no pinch hazard and no wasted time. Be aware, the quick nut does require a few uses to fully break in.

The Team Issue Press keeps the Quick Nut from the big press, a sweet little nut that allows you to slide it on and then click it into place on the thread. Way faster, no pinch hazard and secure.

Kit includes a complete handless press head, 12" press shaft, quick nut and the following drifts:
    Made in Bend Oregon.

    PF30/1.125" headset

24mm bottom bracket drifts, for shimano compatible bottom brackets

22mm bottom bracket drift, single drift for non drive GXP bottom bracket

28.9mm bottom bracket drift, for SRAM DUB

6806 drift for BB30 bottom brackets

    1.5" headset drift

    centering cone

Additional drifts are on the bearing page and longer press shafts along with service parts are available on the parts page.

We always recommend installing bearings one at a time to ensure they go in straight and don't damage the bearings, components or the tools. Use the centering cone in the empty side of the hub/frame/linkage to keep the press concentric with the bore.
