The Pro Chain Whip II takes inspiration from our beloved Vise Whip, applying many of the same functional principles to a more traditional chain whip design. The Pro Chain Whip design focuses on functionality, practicality, and safety. The innovative chain retention hook offers multiple benefits. First it keeps the chain secured to the tool during storage. Secondly, it improves user safety by locking the tool onto the cassette, ensuring full chain wrap and eliminating slippage. An added bonus of this feature is that the tool stays in place on its own. No more fumbling with your cassette lockring tool with one hand while trying to keep your chain whip in place. Being attached to the cassette, the Pro Chain Whip can also be used to slide the cassette off the hub. A nice option when dealing with grimy gears. The tool features a 3/8" square drive allowing use with a torque wrench, an ergonomic TPR rubber grip for improved control, and increased handle thickness for improved strength and stiffness. Keeping traveling mechanics and portability in mind, the Pro Chain Whip geometry maximizes effective leverage while keeping the tool length to a compact 290mm and 325g weight. The integrated fixed gear lockring wrench, optimized for 41-42mm OD lockrings, adds versatility and is one less tool to carry. The Abbey Bike Tools T way precision multi-tool is a great addition to the shop at home or work. This is built as a more robust multi use tool than our compact 4 way using the same durable stainless steel our Crombie heads use.
Everybody makes a multi-tool and there's a little bit of everything on the market, so what's different about ours? All of the little things that add up to one nice tool. A multi tool is only as good as it's tool engagement so that's where we started. If you're familiar with other Abbey tools you've no doubt noticed that they fit tighter than anything else out there and this one is no different. We use precision stainless steel bits from WERA that fit like a glove into the bolts on your modern bike. They won't strip out fasteners like the cheap offshore made tools that are so common in the bike world.
The next part of the multi-tool is the chassis, for this we used our favorite US drawn stainless steel alloy and built a frame to hold the bits.
