    WHEELS MFG OPEN BORE ADAPTER

    Open Bore adapters, also known as drifts, are used to press cartridge bearings in to bottom bracket cups, hub shells, freehub bodies and suspension frame pivots. Each adapter has a smaller diameter that inserts in to the center of a bearing, and a larger diameter section that matches the outside diameter of the bearing. When used with a bearing press, the adapter presses against the races of the bearing, properly aligns the bearing and prevents damage as the bearing is pressed in.



    Our 1526 open bore adapter is used to press 26x15 sealed bearings. The adapter is machined with one step at 15mm OD, which fits in to the center of the sealed bearing.

    Our Post Mount Facing tool is a handy tool for removing paint, over molding or facing bosses perpendicular to the threaded hole. Since the frames and forks are usually either threaded after the fork is built or fixtured by the threaded hole, the threads are usually pretty square, but the metal around them often times needs to be squared up. A bare metal face also makes it easier to adjust brakes and can lead to a more solid feel. The tool works by threading a ground shoulder bolt into the brake boss and spinning the cutter around the bolt with a drill or ratchet. It's good for use on all frame materials if spun at appropriate RPM's.

    The tool is only compatible with post mount brakes. It will not work for IS or Flat Mount frames or forks.

    Recommended RPM's.
    - Aluminum or Magnesium, up to 1000 rpm

    - Stainless steel, 275
    - Titanium, 150
