A side loading bottle cage allows easier bottle removal and loading on smaller frames and in tight spaces (such as if a frame bag is in use.) Instead of pulling the bottle straight up and out, you pull it to the right or left.

The "Left" side cage has its opening on the left side when installed on the donwntube. When installed on the seat tube, the opening flips to the right side.
