Shockwave Quick Drop Fork Dummy
Description
The Quick Drop Fork Dummy lets you remove a fork from a bike in seconds without losing any headset or cockpit hardware. Bearings stay seated, spacers stay in order, and the stem remains aligned while the fork is out. Built for fast bikeshop jobs.
HOW IT WORKS
The tip of the Top Part matches the inner diameter of a standard steerer tube. It is slightly tapered and features a strong integrated neodymium magnet.
Remove your top cap, insert the Quick Drop into the steerer from above, and push the fork downward. As the fork slides down, the tool stays into the steer tube being held by the tight tolerances and the magnet.
You can guide the fork down or lightly pull it while the tool follows smoothly into the headset and frame, holding bearings, spacers, and stem in position.
The lower bearing may stay on the fork during removal. If using the Top + Bottom Kit, place that bearing onto the bottom piece, reinsert both parts into the frame, align them, then rotate 180° to lock the system together.
The magnetic tip also makes reinstallation easier. When guiding the steerer back into position, the magnet helps catch and align the tool instantly, making engagement quick and controlled.
The holding force is strong enough to keep everything composed, even allowing the bike to be turned upside down temporarily if needed during service or short-term storage.

Open Bore adapters, also known as drifts, are used to press cartridge bearings in to bottom bracket cups, hub shells, freehub bodies and suspension frame pivots. Each adapter has a smaller diameter that inserts in to the center of a bearing, and a larger diameter section that matches the outside diameter of the bearing. When used with a bearing press, the adapter presses against the races of the bearing, properly aligns the bearing and prevents damage as the bearing is pressed in.
Our 1526 open bore adapter is used to press 26x15 sealed bearings. The adapter is machined with one step at 15mm OD, which fits in to the center of the sealed bearing.

When cartridge bearings became common in bicycles in the mid 90's they didn't come with tools to service them. It feels like for at least a decade we were installing bearings with a random socket that was close to the right size and removing them with a hammer and a punch. Over the years tools have gotten better and now we have another big step forward in bearing removal.
The removers use an expanding cone that goes behind the bearing and allows you to remove it while tightening the nut. This pulls the bearing into the black cup smoothly with minimal effort. No hammers, no punches, most importantly no damage to your parts. Be sure to watch our shop video to learn how to use this tool properly.
Compatible with bearing Inside Diameters (ID) from 12 to 20 millimeters.
Compatible with Bearing Outside Diameters from 24 to 37 millimeters.
Commonly used for hubs and suspension linkage bearings.
These removers started life as a Noble Tools item and when they closed down in 2023 we acquired the design and putting them back into production. The design is unchanged and parts are backwards compatible with tools made by Noble.
