Ever since the birth of the first Straggler it has been blazing trails and kicking up dust in the gravel world.
Over a decade later the newest Straggler emerges — a highly capable, no-nonsense gravel machine with a wider range of fitment and updated geometry to satisfy those who need a "do-it-all" kind of ride.
The new Straggler is for the rider who sees challenges, not obstacles. Someone who embraces the ethos of the Straggler and is excited to see it do more. Someone eager to push the boundaries of exploration with a "do-it-all" gravel bike that's equally comfortable on- and off-road.
It utilises the same dropouts and brake mounts as the current Midnight Special, along with thru-axles and flat-mount brakes for more performance-oriented riding where stability prevails.
Other updates include:
- Raised stack for more comfortable and visible riding
- Lowered seat tube for greater travel windows on dropper posts
- Sloped top tube to improve standover height for riders with shorter inseams
- Complete bikes featuring wider handlebars allow for a more natural and comfortable riding position
- Slightly lowered bottom brackets for more rider confidence
- Internal dropper post routing compatible

This Midnight Special is special. It’s the first bike Surly has ever combined with carbon fiber. Yes, there is a years-long paper trail of Surly touting the benefits of steel and steel alone. But just because steel is real doesn't mean everything else is fake. Carbon fiber has its own thing going for it, like an incredible strength-to-weight ratio and a knack for reducing road chatter — something you’ll thank us for halfway through your next century on bumpy backroads.
Carbon fiber helps make Midnight Special what it was always meant to be: part hustle and part muscle, a road bike that feels spirited on fresh pavement yet transitions smoothly into the seedy underbelly of road riding, where the asphalt crumbles away and potholes threaten to throw you off-balance.
- Smooth-sailing combination of Surly steel tubing with a carbon fiber fork and Teravail Circos Carbon rims.
- Shimano 105 R7100 2x12 groupset including hydro brakes.
- Modern road standards like flat-mount disc brakes, 12mm front and rear thru-axles, and a 44mm head tube
- Clearance for 650b x 50mm or 700c x 42mm tires without fenders (650b x 50mm or 700c x 38mm with fenders)Stock Level:In StockStock Level:1Stock Level:In StockStock Level:2Stock Level:In StockStock Level:2$6,050.00 (RRP)POAPOAPOAPOAPOA -
