Chris King R45 Black 32 hole Front Road QR Hub

Light
The R45 hubset is 20% lighter than our Classic hubset. We designed sleek new hubshell bodies and new 17 mm axles. That's 17 mm from dropout to dropout resisting deflection during cornering or when the power is full on. We designed a driveshell with a twin bearing design that responsibly removed as much weight as we could from the inner components. Even our patented RingDrive engagement system was redeveloped resulting in a quiet, fast-engaging 45-tooth stainless steel system unique to the R45 rear hub.

Fast
King designed and built a bearing specifically for the R45 hubset. These stainless steel sealed bearings are made in-house in Portland, Oregon. Our proprietary bearing design allows us to place more rolling elements per bearing meaning greater durability and precision. R45 bearings also feature lightweight, low-friction seals for fast rolling and can be easily serviced at regular intervals using only a single 2.5 mm hex wrench and penknife.

Chris King Boost Centerlock 148x12 rear hubs are designed as precision mountain tools. We use one-piece solid axles to provide a stiff hub that will help your suspension perform better and drive every watt of power into the dirt. To thwart mud, water, and contaminants as you power through rough trails, Boost Centerlock hubs have heavy-duty bearing seals, and a threaded driveshell seal ring.

Our bearings have heat-treated, surgical grade steel races that are machined simultaneously to ensure perfectly matched inner and outer races. The quality and speed of our bearings is what sets us apart from the competition and they are what you will feel and notice on every single ride. As Chris King bearing races break in they get faster with age. All our hubs and bearings are fully serviceable for years upon years of demanding use.

The High Flange Rear is a single speed hub with large diameter flanges.

- Flanges have six window cutouts in them to save weight and draw on the influence of classic track hubs.

- 7075 aluminum axle, which has a great strength to weight ratio.

- Axle ends are threaded to receive Paul stainless steel axle bolts.

- Outer lock nut faces are made of knurled steel for a solid grip against dropouts.
