So what is this Straggler anyway? The easy answer is to say that we added disc brakes to a Cross-Check and this is close to accurate. People have asked us to make a disc version of our highly versatile Cross-Check for a long time now and almost everything about the two are very similar. Straggler is slightly different, though.
The most obvious difference of course is that the Straggler has disc caliper mounts instead of rim brake studs. It’ll accept rotors up to 160mm. The rear dropouts are unique, too. They’re a partially closed horizontal design that accommodates singlespeed or geared drivetrains. They feature stop screws that thread in from the rear to further secure the wheel and to position the rear wheel for optimal shifting, plus a forward-mounted stop screw on the drive side to keep the wheel from slipping forward under the force of your gargantuan legs. The rear dropouts are spaced 135mm instead of 132.5mm like the Cross-Check simply because there are far more options for disc hubs in this spacing.

You are looking at our Ted trailer. It is 32” long and 24” wide. Ted is basically the same as our Bill trailer but shorter. It’s made of TIG-welded cro-moly steel for strength and long life. We’ve studied a lot of other trailers and thought about what we want out of a general purpose trailer. From it’s construction to all the details, we’re proud to offer you a trailer you can use for a long, long time to carry all kinds of stuff. When you don’t need it, it easily disconnects from your bike and when you’re ready to use it again it attaches just as quick and stays attached until you remove it.
We’ve added threaded mounting points for decking, corner stakes or for adding custom-built pieces. The wheels are strong, with stainless steel spokes and hardware, aluminum rims and durable, fast-rolling 16x1.95” tires.
Our hitch system is designed to be as universal as possible. This hitch will likely fit your bike. It works with full-suspension frames, disc brakes, rear racks and fenders. It adjusts to accommodate hub widths from 120 – 145mm and allows you to align the centerline of the trailer on the centerline of the bike. It will work with bikes that have wheels as small as 20" and as large as 29" while keeping the bed level with the ground. This is especially important when you are hauling long items that hang off the back of the trailer (lumber, tubing, ladders, etc.).

We decided to design a chain tensioner that will keep that rear wheel static in our dropouts...and most other kinds of rear-facing horizontal dropouts. Plus, ours will open up a bottle o' brew. The body of the Tuggnut is investment cast in stainless steel for durability. It features a thumbscrew, for tool-free adjustments, and 2 axle holes for a wide range of fore/aft wheel positions. The Tuggnut comes with an aluminum adapter that reduces the axle hole from 10mm to 6mm, so you can use it with quick-release axles, in addition to nutted axles. We sell it as a single, because you really only need one...on the drive side. But, if you absolutely need one on the non-drive side of your rig, to achieve balance in your life, you are in luck...the bottle opener works either way.
